Gx Wishlist
Although I'm not planning on becoming a tier-1 Gx developer, here are the features that I would like to see in Gx:
- most image/album manipulation should happen in-place, no editor necessary:
- edit caption
- rotate image
- delete item
- rearrange album
- move item to a different album
- comprehensive high-level API
- flexible RSS support: RSS is the most mainstream integration API we have, and it gets used by many different applications, from slideshows to notifications, to blog integration to copying albums
- ONE theme, supporting different views (mobile, G2-album-like with Ajax, slider-like, explorer-like list), skinnable with CSS
- adapt better to viewer's screen real-estate: number of pics per album page, size of intermediate picture (assumes several resizes)
I think I share most of User:Jozefs' views.
Arbitrary order of pictures is a MUST-have for me. Indeed, I would prefer the sort functionality to reset the arbitrary order to match the sort criteria (for example by date) and then let me refine the order, rather than the G2 dichotomy between rigid order and manual arrange.
