Q: When I import a watermark I must select whether to apply it to thumbs, resized, or original images. In fact, I only want to apply it to hotlinked images. Does my choice at import time affect which images are watermarked when the hotlink action is applied? Jschrempp 18:28, 27 November 2005 (PST)
A: No. The thumbnail/resize/fullsize selection will only be applied when that watermark is selected when adding photos to an album. Only the watermark position is used for hotlinked images; the watermark is applied to hotlinked full size or resizes images, but not to thumbnails. --Mindless 20:15, 27 November 2005 (PST)
Setup: I import a watermark file and I have to pick one of three options: Fullsize, Resizes, Thumbnail. I select Fullsize. I do this for three different watermark files. I then import image files using the Upload Applet. The images on my pages, as seen by me or Guest, do not have watermarks on them. I also activate a watermark for Hotlinks. Hotlinked images do have the watermark on them.
Q: Is this a bug that my newly uploaded images do not have a watermark on them? Or have I misunderstood something?
Q: Since I can have several watermark files uploaded, and each can have one or more of the options selected, what happens if two watermarks have Fullsize selected? (Since only one watermark can be selected for hotlinking, there is no confusion there.)
If someone can provide me some information here I will prettify it and add it into the Watermarking codex page.
