Gallery 3 is written in the kohana framework. Kohana is an implementation of the MVC model, providing infrastructure that allows the Gallery team to concentrate on application code rather than defining and developing system infrastructure.
Currently, Gallery 3 uses kohana 2.3 but both products (G3 and the framework) are undergoing constant development.
Very important: If you are developing G3 code of any kind, verify proper releases so that you avoid upgrade or conversion work.
