Social Share

Display a button in a block for three Social media sites allowing the user to post the current page as a status update, +1 or tweet.

Description

A simple block that displays a button for Facebook share, Facebook like, Google+ +1, Pinterest pin it, and Twitter tweet button by default only on image and movie pages.

The code in the HTML code for each of the Social media sites is based on the following developer documentation

• Facebook Share (deprecated by Facebook)
• Facebook Like
• Google+ +1 button
• Pinterest pin it button
• Twitter tweet button

You can enable or disable each and if you go into the view directory you can modify the code for each in the file for the services name: facebook_share.html.php facebook_like.html.php google.html.php pinterest.html.php twitter.html.php

Installation

• Download the module from: here.
• Extract the module to the module directory of your G3 install.
• Activate the module: Login -> Admin -> Modules. Check the box next to the module. Click update at the bottom of the page.

Usage

• Admin -> settings -> Social Share. Check which Social Media sites you would like users to share with and set each of the options for the buttons.
• Admin -> Appearance -> Manage sidebar. Verify that the social share block is moved from the 'Available blocks' to 'Active blocks' and in the order you desire with other blocks.
